How to Connect Google Shared Drive to All Cloud Hub

Google Shared Drives make it easy for teams to collaborate by storing files that belong to your organization rather than an individual user. By connecting your Google Shared Drive to All Cloud Hub, you can access and manage your organization’s shared files alongside your other connected cloud storage accounts from a single dashboard.

Unlike a personal Google Drive connection, Google Shared Drive requires a Google Workspace account. Personal Gmail accounts (such as @gmail.com) cannot be used to connect Shared Drives.

This guide explains the complete process of connecting a Google Shared Drive to All Cloud Hub.

Before You Begin

Before connecting your Google Shared Drive, make sure that:

  • You have a Google Workspace (work or school) account.
  • Your Google Workspace account has access to at least one Shared Drive.
  • You have permission to access the Shared Drive.
  • Your Google Workspace administrator allows third-party app access, if applicable.

Important: Google Shared Drive is available only for Google Workspace accounts. Personal Gmail accounts cannot be used to connect a Shared Drive.

How to Connect Google Shared Drive to All Cloud Hub

Step 1: Open the Connect Account Window

  1. Sign in to your All Cloud Hub account.
  2. Click the Connect Account button under the Cloud Accounts section in the left side panel.

Step 2: Enter an Account Alias

In the Account Name (Alias) field, enter a name for your connection.

For example:

  • Marketing Team
  • Finance Shared Drive
  • HR Documents
  • Company Shared Drive

The alias helps you easily identify this connection inside All Cloud Hub. You can rename it later if needed.

Step 3: Select Google Shared Drive

Under the Business Services section of the Connect Cloud Account window:

  1. Select Shared Drive.
  2. Click Connect Account.

Unlike Google Drive, Google Shared Drive appears as a separate Business Service because it is designed specifically for Google Workspace organizations.

Step 4: Review the Google Workspace Requirement

Before continuing, All Cloud Hub displays an informational message explaining the account requirements.

The message reminds you that:

  • You must sign in using a Google Workspace (work or school) account.
  • Personal Gmail accounts cannot connect a Shared Drive.

Review the message and click OK to continue.

If you do not wish to proceed, click Cancel.

Step 5: Sign in to Your Google Workspace Account

A Google sign-in window will open.

  1. Sign in using your Google Workspace account.
  2. If prompted, choose the correct organization account.
  3. Review the requested permissions.
  4. Click Allow to authorize All Cloud Hub.

All Cloud Hub uses Google’s secure OAuth authentication process. Your Google password is never stored by All Cloud Hub.

Step 6: Complete the Connection

After successful authentication, your Google Shared Drive account will be connected to All Cloud Hub.

Your Shared Drive will appear in the Cloud Accounts section, allowing you to browse and manage your organization’s files from the same dashboard as your other connected cloud storage services.

You can now:

  • Browse Shared Drive folders
  • Upload and download files
  • Organize team documents
  • Search files across connected cloud accounts
  • Transfer files between supported cloud storage services
  • Manage multiple cloud accounts from one place

What’s Different About Google Shared Drive?

Although Google Shared Drive is part of Google Workspace, it works differently from a personal Google Drive.

Files Belong to the Organization

Files stored in a Shared Drive belong to the organization instead of an individual user. If a team member leaves, the files remain available to everyone with access.

Built for Team Collaboration

Shared Drives are designed for departments, teams, and projects where multiple people need access to the same files and folders.

Requires Google Workspace

Unlike personal Google Drive, Shared Drive is available only with Google Workspace accounts. Standard Gmail accounts (@gmail.com) do not support Shared Drives.

Access Depends on Your Permissions

The folders and files you see inside All Cloud Hub depend on the permissions assigned to your Google Workspace account. If you cannot view a Shared Drive, contact your Workspace administrator or the Shared Drive manager.

Organized Alongside Your Other Cloud Accounts

Once connected, your Google Shared Drive appears alongside your other cloud storage accounts in All Cloud Hub, making it easy to manage files across multiple platforms from a single interface.

Conclusion

Once your Google Shared Drive is connected, All Cloud Hub gives you a centralized view of your organization’s shared files without changing the way your team works in Google Workspace. Whether you’re searching for documents or managing multiple cloud services, everything is accessible from one dashboard.
